Pregnancy Scan
Experienced Ultrasonographers are available each day to perform the following Pregnancy Scans:
Early Pregnancy Scans
The first scan routinely offered by the NHS is not until twelve weeks of pregnancy.
A scan performed in the early weeks of pregnancy (7-11 weeks from the first day of your last period) will provide the welcome reassurance that your baby's heartbeat is present. This means that your pregnancy is viable. The examination is performed through your tummy (transabdominally) or internally (transvaginally). Both methods are painless and safe in early pregnancy.
Pregnancy Growth Scans
A simple scan which can be performed in the weeks between you baby's anomaly scan (approximately 20 weeks) and the due date of your baby's birth. This will provide you with the reassurance that your baby is growing normally. We can also re-check that your placenta is in the right place and check that there is the normal amount of water (amniotic fluid) around you baby.
20-23 Week Anomaly Scan
A thorough and detailed scan of your baby's structure, baby's growth and position of the placenta.
